FELLOWSHIPS

Current practicing media conservators emerge from a variety of different academic paths including conservation, moving image, archives, and computer science. This project hosted several fellowships, where fellows from different training backgrounds overlapped during their time at MoMA and also had the opportunity to complete part of their fellowship at a partner institution. The Media Conservation Initiative fellowship program provided training and research opportunities to postgraduate students and helped to fulfill an immediate training need within the field. Fellows had an opportunity to work with MoMA's ever-growing collection of time-based media art while providing much-needed internal support in media conservation.
